Zoltan Mesko

Gostkowski to Zbikowski. Cherish it, as those names said together is an experience. I only wished Zoltan Mesko punted to Zbikowski too. Zoltan to Zbikowski. Can the NFL put these teams in the same division until Zbikowski retires?

Now punter Zoltan Mesko might be seriously hurt after teammate James Ihedigbo fell onto Mesko’s leg following a punt. Aiken shouldn’t have peace of mind to begin with. He’s New England’s third long snapper in less than three seasons. Aiken probably doesn’t want to follow in the footsteps of Jake Ingram (2009) and Matt Katula (2010).

Cunningham, TEs Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez, DLs Brandon Deaderick and Kyle Love, and punter Zoltan Mesko were, there is a lot of room for improvement.

University of Florida alums Hernandez and Cunningham in particular have to step it up and be more consistent. After a blazing first half of the season with 34 receptions and two touchdowns, Hernandez had just eleven catches the rest of the way (with four touchdowns).

And punter Zoltan Mesko’s consistency improved.

But maybe a few of the young pups are showing signs of hitting the Wall.  TE Aaron Hernandez caught just eleven passes from week 10 to the end of the season. In particular, he was held out of the final two games of the season. DE Brandon Deaderick lost focus on the routine day-to-day preparations and earned a suspension from the team. And when was the last time we heard OLB Jermaine Cunningham’s name?

I thought it was one of the most interesting training camp stories. The Patriots drafted punter Zoltan Mesko. He would be assimilated into New England’s special teams with second year long snapper Jake Ingram and fourth year kicker Stephen Gostkowski already in place.

Special teams must to make it hard on Baltimore. P Zoltan Mesko and the punt coverage has to make the Ravens start deep in their own territory frequently.

Showtime: We might see the full portfolio of Ray Lewis Old Spice commercials. It’s a great scent for a body wash he’s pitching for what it’s worth.

My favorite rookie wasn’t ILB Brandon Spikes, but P Zoltan Mesko. Three punts landed inside the 20 and the Saints gained just one punt return yard on two attempts. Mesko will tilt the field during the season if he keeps this up.

Sorry Zoltan Mesko. You didn’t make my Starting 11:

Torry Holt: I have high expectations for the 11-year veteran. I said back in February I wanted the Pats to sign Holt when he was a free agent. Because New England did, I want him to succeed because a bit of my reputation as a couch scout is on the line.

Most of the rookies might already be in attendance, but training camp doesn't officially begin until the veterans show up on Thursday. In anticipation, I spoke with FootballOutsiders.com creator Aaron Schatz and got his take on what to look for during camp:

Brandon Spikes will become a two-down run-stuffing ILB. Zoltan Mesko will win the punting job.

Of the early picks, the only guy I don’t know what to expect from is Jermaine Cunningham. Even though the former University of Florida defensive end is practicing with the first team defense during OTAs, it’s not a guarantee that he will stay there when the season starts. Making the switch from 4-3 DE to a 3-4 OLB doesn’t happen overnight.

I will be able to say “No one messes with Zoltan” in honor of punter Zoltan Mesko. Hopefully I won’t owe Adam Sandler royalties for my rendition of Sandler’s movie.

ut one of them, along with four other players the Pats reportedly met or will meet with:

P Zoltan Mesko, Michigan

He finished with the best average in college last year. New England hasn’t drafted a punter since Pat O’Neil in 1994. I know nothing about Mesko, but I would like to see the Pats draft him just so us fans can compliment him with a rendition of one of Adam Sandler’s movie: Don’t mess with the Zoltan.
