Tony Sparano

3 October 2010

Miami head coach Tony Sparano and New England’s Bill Belichick both are from the Bill Parcells coaching tree and believe in the same principles of success in the NFL: play tough defense, be the more physical team, protect the ball on offense, and be opportunistic.

This week we've got a new feature we're calling "Donning the Hoodie", where yours truly will step into the role of Bill Belichick and lay out a game plan of how the Patriots might game plan against their opponent.

onor that ultimately went to Atlanta's Mike Smith (If I had a vote, mine would had been for Miami's Tony Sparano). But I sure felt Belichick should be acknowledge for leading the Patriots to 11 wins with 14 players on injured reserve, including key players QB Tom Brady, S Rodney Harrison, and LB Adalius Thomas.

The crystal ball had a mediocre performance this past week, going a mere 2-2.  This is playoff time, so that is unacceptable!  The crystal ball took its lumps on the Colts game, but it’s okay with it since Norv’s our buddy!  Anyway, that puts the crystal ball at 2-2 for the post-season, and 35-28-1 overall.  That’s seven games over .500 (.555 to be exact).  Hopefully the crystal ball will perform better this coming week, as the pressure mounts in post-season play!  Let’s take a look back, and review what happened last week.

was an absolute nightmare!

The Cowboys lost a key component in last year’s success, Tony Sparano, who is now the head coach of the AFC East Champion Miami Dolphins.  He helped Jason Garrett with the offense last season.  It was obvious to any Cowboys fan how much Sparano was missed.  If you didn’t know before…you know now!  Sparano was why the Cowboys offense excelled last year!  The Cowboys were pre-season favorites to win the Super Bowl, but that’s pretty tough to do when you don’t even make the playoffs.  What a bunch of…underachievers!
