1. DT Vince Wilfork was in beast mode all afternoon. Six tackles and a sack doesn’t begin to explain his influence on the game. Wilfork had at three tackles for a loss and his share of pressure on QB Joe Flacco. It was a dominant performance by a team leader showing what it takes to get to a Super Bowl. It was arguably Wilfork’s best game in the biggest game of the year.

Compare that to Haynesworth’s three tackles in six games and Ochocinco obviously has done more than Haynesworth.

Mesko would learn how to hold for Gostkowski, without previous experience for Mesko. I was curious to see the three learn to work together. Did they have to develop chemistry? How long does that take? How much instruction did Gostkowski give Mesko about how he likes the ball positioned? Did Ingram have to get a feel for where Mesko likes the ball catching for punts as opposed to catching for field goals? Does timing come into play?

K Stephen Gostkowski – A young, accurate kicker with a strong leg and a Pro Bowl under his belt should be back. By virtue of the position he plays, he won’t be too expensive to keep.

5. Even kicker Stephen Gostkowski made a miscue. Before his fourth quarter miss on a 44-yard field goal, Gostkwoski hit his last 32 kicks in the fourth quarter. That streak included extra points.

But, as always, Bill Belichick had a plan.
Some called taking Memphis kicker Stephen Gostkowski in the fourth round of the 2006 draft a reach. Sure, he had the strongest leg in the draft but taking a kicker that high? He might not even beat Martin Gramatica out of training camp.

Maybe lost in the mis-match between two quarterbacks is the job by K Stephen Gostkowski. His kickoffs were booming! All six reached the endzone and only one was returned. New York's field position suffered thanks to Gostkowski. Every drive the Jets started after receiving the kickoff started at the 20. And he was perfect on four field goals.
