The stats say New England quarterbacks were sacked just 18 times, a fantastic number that is slightly over one sack per game. But memory paints a different picture. Brady took a pounding last year as defenses came after him, believing Brady’s recovery, both physically and mentally, coupled with unfriendly reminders of a relentless pass rush, would throw Brady off. And at times, it worked.

Offensive line: Guards Ryan Wendell and Rich Orhnberger have a prayer after the Patriots traded Russ Hochstein. Wesley Britt and George Bussey probably are closer to the edge as Sebastian Vollmer established himself.
