Smith made the call to keep QB Phillip Rivers over Drew Brees because Brees suffered a torn labrum and partial rotator cuff tear in the 2005 season finale. That and Rivers was hand picked by Smith in the 2004 NFL Draft after trading QB Eli Manning for Phillip. While statistically they’re equal, Brees remarkably recovered from the injury and led the New Orleans Saints to a 2009 Super Bowl Championship while Rivers came up short against the New York Jets.

be he should keep more veterans on the team for leadership.

That’s not the case anymore, with San Diego’s Phillip Rivers tying for the league lead in touchdown passes last year after ACL surgery in January.
After five games it seems unlikely that Brady will reach 34 TD passes this year. With his up and down play so far, he’ll have a hard enough time reaching 30 scoring tosses.

ork’s talks stalled when Nick Kaczur and Mark LeVoir can get extensions? With Eli Manning and Phillip Rivers getting mega deals, what will Tom Brady ask for when his negotiations open up? If Ted has four oranges and Mike has seven, then what is the capital of Scandinavia?

09-2010 Chargers should be a large improvement this year with health and the continued bettering of Phillip Rivers. It will be interesting to see how well Shawn Merriman returns from his ACL surgery, seeing whether or not he will be lights out or just in the dark. I'll give the Steelers 7/10.

ounds and nothing. Romo didn’t come out of college with the pedigree of an Eli Manning, Phillip Rivers, or Matt Ryan, to name a few. He needed a few seasons of grooming just to resemble an NFL QB. Everyone needs to be patient with him. Even Peyton Manning took several years before he had post-season success. And Romo doesn’t even have an ounce of the same pedigree that the Manning’s have! As for the Cowboys winning the Super Bowl if Crayton didn’t drop that sure TD pass…we will never know? But, I think that the Cowboys have something with Romo…let’s wait a few years before we label him a bust. From where he came from…he’s already out-performed anyone’s expectations!

Jackson finished with 134 yards and a touchdown, Phillip Rivers topped 300 yards passing, New England barely pressured Rivers, and couldn't sack him either.
I don't want to experience a case
