t group to get signed likely will be the four second round picks, DT Ron Brace, CB Darius Butler, S Patrick Chung, and OT Sebastian Vollmer. And ultimately I expect the drafted dozen to all be under contract by the time training camp starts on July 30th.

Besides the two veterans New England also drafted CB Darius Butler and safety Patrick Chung. The return of CB Terrence Wheatley from a season-ending wrist injury also makes the battle in the secondary interesting.

25: Patrick Chung – The number became infamous after Fernando Bryant was too scared to tackle a New York Giants tight end in a preseason game and was pushed into the endzone. Chung will make the number look heroic with just one tackle.

Reports have surfaced today that the New England Patriots have reached out to Jason Taylor again about joining the team. While we agree with Michael Lombardi that a pass rusher is about all the Pats are missing for another Super Bowl run, we're just not sold on Taylor being the answer.

s had 4 picks in the first two rounds of 2010, and a number of uniquely talented prospects. 

Patrick Chung: He's a good complement to James Sanders and Brandon Meriweather. Sturdy, plays with an edge, and should excel playing close to the line of scrimmage. With Sanders and Meriweather both signed thru 2011 and now the addition of Chung, the Patriots have a solid young corps of safeties.

The other prospect that could contribute now is DT Ron Brace. Otherwise, I'm not wild about S Patrick Chung and OT Sebastian Vollmer. Chung can hit and play the run, but is a liability in pass coverage. and Vollner sounds like a year or two project for the right side.
