Red Cross – DE Ty Warren, OL Nick Kaczur, and now Bodden, could miss the entire season. Just come out of this game healthy.

Who starts: LG is up in the air with Logan Mankins holding out and Nick Kaczur injured. With one OLB spot an open competition, who plays with the first unit could indicate who’s in the lead. Will ILB Gary Guyton play alongside Jerod Mayo or has Brandon Spikes already nudged the Georgia Tech product aside? We’ll see if S Pat Chung can take the first step toward warding off challengers James Sanders and Brandon McGowan. And if WR Wes Welker sits this one out, who is the back-up plan?

Most of the rookies might already be in attendance, but training camp doesn't officially begin until the veterans show up on Thursday. In anticipation, I spoke with FootballOutsiders.com creator Aaron Schatz and got his take on what to look for during camp:

With RT Nick Kaczur and LT Matt Light hurting, Ross and OT Mark LeVoir likely have to replace the corners of the line. These changes force New England's hand, but at the same time, maybe it's best that something is done. If, by chance, they find a combination that works better than the status quo, then by all means stick with it. The team stands at 3-2 and it is easy to lose ground quickly.

People gotta recognize! Day by day, I'll review a free agent's career up to his arrival to Patriots camp. I'll get started with Bryant, the man many believe will be a starter at corner back:

SS Rodney Harrison
The only name absent from last year's offense is Nick Kaczur. I'm having doubts about whether he will remain with the team. It's not just about his off-field issue, though that does play a role. More than anything else, it's his ability to pass protect. I believe Kaczur has problems with speed rushers. Besides New York Giants' defensive end Michael Strahan beating Kaczur for two sacks in Super Bowl 42, I remember Baltimore used special teams LB Antwan Barnes to rush the passer and he beat Kaczur for a sack. The recent signing of Anthony Clement doesn't bode well for Kaczur.

On Tuesday, right tackle Nick Kaczur plead guilty to speeding at a New York courtroom. I wonder if he should bother to come back.
Though Kaczur remains on the roster, I wonder if his position is tenuous. A day after the Pats signed two more draft picks (LB Shawn Crable and QB Kevin O'Connell), they also added 10-year veteran RT Anthony Clement.

But neither can compare to the revelation that starting right tackle Nick Kaczur bought Oxycontin by the hundreds for several months.
In case you missed it from The Boston Globe, Kaczur was arrested in New York back in April and was found with oxycodone in his vehicle. He admitted to buying the pills 100 at a time since November 2007 but saved his own behind by helping the DEA catch his supplier.

The truth is, the New York Giants had a one of a kind defensive line package. No one else could trot out a D-line consisted of three defensive ends (it would had been four if Mathias Kiwanuka was healthy). New England's interior line couldn't handle the quickness of Justin Tuck after shutting down slower defensive tackles. The Giants created the mismatch and it worked to perfection.
