DE/LB Jerry Hughes - TCU

 

Just like Michigan’s Brandon Graham, he’s a productive DE that would have to convert to OLB in a 3-4. And like Graham, I have a hard time picturing New England taking the 6-2 pass rusher with a first round pick despite his production.

e will be put under the microscope at Gillette Stadium, like Tennessee RB Montario Hardesty, TCU DE Jerry Hughes, and Tenneessee DT Dan Williams will be. Like dinner with Tebow, these visits could mean something, or could mean nothing.

Surely players like Jerry Hughes and Brandon Graham would grade out as DPRs at least as rookies. Is 22nd overall too high for a DPR?

So the conservative, common sense pick would be a Sergio Kindle, Carlos Dunlap, Brandon Graham, or Jerry Hughes. None are perfect for the Patriots OLB position, but all could potentially provide some pass rush that the Pats sorely need.
