I want drive-ending tackles like the third down stop by LB Tedy Bruschi on RB Frank Gore. I expect Mayo to come up with more of these meaningful tackles.

To continue the conversation, ILB Gary Guyton had a great solo tackle as well. He took on a blocker with his inside shoulder before bringing down the ball carrier. He first caught my attention with a 10-tackle performance in the final preseason game. I hate saying this so early, but he's been a real find as a rookie free agent.

And they must keep an eye on RB Frank Gore out of the backfield. He's tied for the team lead in receptions with 15.

With that being said, here's a few things I'm looking for:

Hold the Line: Cassel is having a hard enough time getting the team into the endzone. Miami's five-sack assault killed the offense. The blockers can't let it happen this week.

That's the good news. The bad news is San Francisco RB Frank Gore is absent from the 49ers' injury report.

The key to this game will be stopping the run. Yeah, I know it sounds funny saying that about an offense called by pass-happy offensive coordinator and former St. Louis Rams head coach Mike Martz. But I don't think his ego will get the better of him. If the running game is productive, then he will shove it down the Patriots' throat.
