But his season came to an end with a black eye as he took a cheap shot at Patriots guard Dan Connolly after Brady’s quick kick at the end of the game. It’s understandable the emotion from such an embarrassing loss got the better of Miller. But he has to be better than that and take his whipping like a man, and use it to inspire him next season. What’s encouraging is the production is getting better, even without C Dan Koppen. Dan Connolly slid over from RG into Koppen’s spot and G Brian Waters, a free agent signed after Koppen’s injury, keeps the unit humming.

The stats say New England quarterbacks were sacked just 18 times, a fantastic number that is slightly over one sack per game. But memory paints a different picture. Brady took a pounding last year as defenses came after him, believing Brady’s recovery, both physically and mentally, coupled with unfriendly reminders of a relentless pass rush, would throw Brady off. And at times, it worked.
