Brandon Tate

18 August 2010

I want to see more of WRs Brandon Tate and Taylor Price and TEs Aaron Hernandez and Rob Gronkowski as a receiver. Gronk was good as a blocker with room for improvement.

3. My favorite rookie wasn’t ILB Brandon Spikes, but P Zoltan Mesko. Three punts landed inside the 20 and the Saints gained just one punt return yard on two attempts. Mesko will tilt the field during the season if he keeps this up.

We’ll see if he’s better with more opportunities. And WR Brandon Tate pretty much had a redshirt year with the Pats last year. Tate could send a message to the rest of the league for not drafting him in 2009.

And youngsters Brandon Tate, Julian Edelman and Taylor Price have the potential to be great. Matt Slater and Sam Aiken, as effective special teamers, have extra value to the team.

And with three talented tight ends on the roster, the Patriots might sacrifice a wide out to keep veteran Alge Crumpler and rookie Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez.

WR Brandon Tate played in one game before being shut down. What can they do when healthy?

We’ve heard nothing but good things about Tate, who was a star receiver at North Carolina before tearing up his knee. If he’s as good as advertised, then he might be a steal of a third round pick from the 2009 draft.

I’ll be looking particularly at OLB Shawn Crable, WR Brandon Tate, and ILB Tyrone McKenzie.

North Carolina’s Cam Thomas will visit with the Patriots soon. The 6-4 330-pound defensive tackle will be put under the microscope at Gillette Stadium, like Tennessee RB Montario Hardesty, TCU DE Jerry Hughes, and Tenneessee DT Dan Williams will be. Like dinner with Tebow, these visits could mean something, or could mean nothing.

And Aqib Talib had enough reach to pick off a deep pass to WR Brandon Tate. Certainly Moss has to step up and beat his man if he’s one-on-one with anybody. Then it is up to Brady to put the pass where only Moss can get it.

With the Joey Galloway experiment over it now remains to be seen if Sam Aiken or Brandon Tate can step up and contribute in crunch time against the best teams. Julian Edelman should help onc

Why not hang out a little for a vacation before coming back home?

1: Welcome to the NFL, Brandon Tate. The rookie receiver was activated from the non-football injury/reserved list and no time was wasted getting him into the game. Two kickoff returns for 44 isn’t much, but his success is just getting back on the field after tearing his ACL.

It’s no guarantee that Edelman will keep the job, as third round draft pick Brandon Tate is eligible to be activated from the physically unable to perform list. The form

The Patriots took a chance with WR Brandon Tate when they drafted him in the third round. He suffered an ACL and MCL tear that cut short his senior season at North Carolina and hurt his draft status.

Joining them on the sideline is rookie receiver Brandon Tate on the active/non-football injury list.

All these players are available to return whenever the team determines the individual is ready to play. In fact, Richard was removed from the PUP list today and participated in his first camp practice.

Matt might get another chance.

I wouldn’t rule out WR Brandon Tate from returning either. The third round draft pick from North Carolina suffered a serious knee injury while returning a punt for the Tar Heels. If he’s fully recovered, Tate could be right in the mix of the return competition.

But there are enough candidates to replace him, whether Matt Slater, rookie Brandon Tate or someone else wins the job.

We’ll find out how much blame belonged to Hobbs when the season starts because nothing has been done to improve the pass rush this off-season so far. But for sure Ellis was part of the problem.

Oh, by the way, he's 6'7 and nicknamed "Seabass". You can't make this stuff up.

Brandon Tate: Tate and Percy Harvin were the only two morons to test positive for pot at the combine. I'm pretty sure 70% of the NFL smokes weed so I don't really see what the big deal is. I think Randy Moss and Wes Welker will show young Brandon what it takes to succeed in the NFL and either he'll get it or he won't. It's not like Chad Jackson left any big shoes behind to be filled.
