Safety Bernard Pollard has become the Patriots’ nemesis. It was Pollard as a Kansas City Chief who hit QB Tom Brady on the knee last year, ending Brady’s season in week one. On Sunday he launched himself at Brian Hoyer, recovered a fumble for a touchdown, and caught the interception that set up the Texans’ winning score.

The unlucky number should be 49 as in the jersey worn by Kansas City's Bernard Pollard.

Decent point, but that's not seeing the whole picture. Now pay attention.

Besides Brady, Chiefs QB Brodie Croyle was knocked out of the game on a third quarter sack by LB Adalius Thomas. Test results showed Croyle suffered a separated shoulder and will miss Sunday's game against the Oakland Raiders. Croyle wears number 12. More proof?

ou know what was funny? Right after QB Tom Brady collapsed to the ground after the hit by KC safety Bernard Pollard, my first impulse was, "OK, so he's hurt. Bring in Drew Bledsoe!" That was a good memory because the Patriots still beat the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC Championship and Brady returned to play in Super Bowl XXXVI.
