Releasing QB Kevin O’Connell ensured that Andrew Walter would be the back-up with Brian Hoyer the emergency/developmental passer. Rookie long snapper Jake Ingram edged free agent Nathan Hodel. And Tank Williams’ release locks in Brandon Merriweather, James Sanders, Brandon McGowan and Pat Chung as the safetys.

DE Kevin Carter seems to be getting serious consideration. QB Matt Gutierrez was cut and QB Andrew Walter signed to replace Gutz.
But no position has been as active since the end of the regular season as OLB. Even before Mike Vrabel was traded to Kansas City, we’ve seen Angelo Craig and Darrell Robertson signed. Both were cut before training camp got underway.
