Albert Haynesworth

12 November 2011

Many Patriot fans were happy to hear DT Albert Haynesworth was released on Monday. The big slug was a waste of space and wasn’t worth the 2013 fifth round draft pick head coach Bill Belichick traded for Haynesworth-less.

After careful internal debate, I reached the conclusion that I did not want DT Albert Haynesworth on the team:

“…the day Haynesworth is no longer on the Patriots can’t come soon enough for me.”

Say several players expected to play big roles in 2011 didn’t suit up. Point out that DT Albert Haynesworth was held out for a third game. Give the offensive line an alibi: OG Dan Connolly played part of the game hurt or it was LT Matt Light’s first game back. It doesn’t erase the fact that the Patriots were manhandled all night long.

opefully he’s physically ready to play.

Haynes(worth) His Way: With one lawsuit behind him, Albert Haynesworth was back in action at practice. Hopefully he gets a chance to unleash his destructive force in a game.

Ellis, with two double digit sack seasons, has been reliable and consistent over an 11-year career. Albert Haynesworth was at his happiest when he played aggressively with Tennessee in 2007 and 2008.

Albert Haynesworth.

I don’t want him.

I wasn’t a fan of the trade when I learned of it last Thursday because he slouched for two years in Washington after banking $41 million from the Redskins. The second year as Haynesworth warred with ‘Skins head coach Mike Shanahan really turned me off.

ning started with reports that Belichick pulled the trigger on a deal for troublesome Washington DT Albert Haynesworth. As the day wound down Belichick struck again, swinging a deal for diva WR Chad Ochocinco of Cincinnati.

Its recently been brought to my attention that, over the past couple of weeks or so, my readership has doubled from 2 to 4. Thanks to these good natured and sympathetic followers, I’m left to wrestle with a serious question: Do I quit while on top (never had I anticipated the blog becoming this great a success), or do I continue to dribble out these “bi-weekly” blunderbusses, even though there is likely nowhere to go from here but down?

Tom Brady – While the hit Brady took from Washington DT Albert Haynesworth looked bad, by how Brady was moving his arm on the sideline makes me believe his shoulder truly is just sore. I really would had liked to see how Tom bounced back after taking that hit, but can understand why the coaches pulled him from the game. Brady overall did play well. He even moved around in the pocket to buy time a couple of times.

It will be especially interesting to see if the Pats can run inside and control DT Albert Haynesworth, Washington’s premiere free agent addition this year.

Hold the line: Opposing teams had their way on the ground after two games. New England is giving up 144 yards per game at a 4.7 yards per carry clip. Calling that unacceptable is a major understatement. Whether it was the starting unit or the back-ups victimized, or the 4-3 or 3-4, the Pats have to improve dramatically at defending the run. They may see RBs Clinton Portis and Laddell Betts, a very good 1-2 backfield combination.

oaches make mistakes.

Ironically on the 4th and 3 play, Titans star defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth was injured when his left leg was caught under the pile. A few of the Titans players said the Texans acted a little harsh during Haynesworth's injury. Why is this ironic? Because Haynesworth was the same player that had 'suspicious' hits against Texans quarterback Matt Schaub before last season in the same stadium! (Reliant Stadium). Official diagnosis of Haynesworth's injury has not been released, but the replay was not too pretty. Titans will need him by their first playoff game!
