WR Dez Bryant – Oklahoma State
He’s the consensus top receiver in this year’s draft, but likely won’t get drafted as high as he’s rated. From day one he was considered a character risk. I don’t think Bryant is as bad of a person as he’s been painted. I respect his talent, but there’s another wide out I’m enamored with.
RB Montario Hardesty - Tennessee
He’s well built and productive…when healthy. Hardesty never played a full season until his senior year, and he made the best of it. He’s considered a sleeper in this year’s draft and likely will be available on day two.
DE/LB Jerry Hughes - TCU
Just like Michigan’s Brandon Graham, he’s a productive DE that would have to convert to OLB in a 3-4. And like Graham, I have a hard time picturing New England taking the 6-2 pass rusher with a first round pick despite his production.
P Brent Bowden – Virginia Tech
He’s the second best punter in this year’s draft. Besides having a strong leg, he has good accuracy and can execute pooch and directional punts well, skills that would be appreciated by head coach Bill Belichick.
LB Chris McCoy – Middle Tennessee State
He’s a small school prospect with pro size. He fits the profile, measuring 6’3” 261 pounds and timed 4.71 in the 40. McCoy is such an unknown he’s currently not listed in NFL.com’s draft section. He’s projected as a late round pick.
