DE/LB Sergio Kindle
He’s been compared to his former teammate Brian Orakpo, who was drafted in the first round by Washington. The results: Eleven sacks. After watching Kindle’s performance in the National Championship game, I do believe he has potential equal to Orakpo. Kindle is on my wish list.
DT Dan Williams
Originally projected as a second day pick, Williams has shot up draft boards and could go as early as the top half of the first round. He’s built to play either end or nose in a 3-4.
TE Aaron Hernandez
Since Ben Watson was allowed to walk, there’s a huge void for a receiving TE. Hernandez would fit the bill. Two concerns: How well can he transition from Florida’s spread offense and how well can he block.
RB Dexter McCluster
Kevin Faulk isn’t going to play forever. McCluster is an explosive player that’s a threat to go the distance every time he touches the ball. At his size (5’8” 165), he can’t shoulder the load of an every down back or consistently be effective between the tackles.
WR Eric Decker
What is it about Big Ten receivers that caught New England’s attention? Decker is another big target with good speed. He’s not a breakaway threat, but Decker will move the chains. Decker has a history of injuries, which is a concern.
