Taylor Made

Miami defensive end Jason Taylor has drawn a line in the sand. After a second place finish on Dancing With the Stars, he won't report for any off-season team functions, including training camp. They say it's his way of demanding a trade.

At this point, he might have forced the Dolphins' hand. They dangled the six-time Pro Bowler before the draft but no offer was good enough. They wanted a second round pick for Taylor, but reportedly were offered a fourth round selection.

I said it before in my April 30th entry that the Patriots should try to obtain Taylor. He would be a perfect fit as well as keep him from constantly harrassing QB Tom Brady whenever the Patriots and Dolphins faced off.

If Miami's asking price goes down to a third round pick, then hopefully New England's chief of player personell Scott Pioli jumps and makes the deal. Jason Taylor is a 6-6 DE/OLB that played in a 3-4 before. He would fit right in with 6-4 Mike Vrabel and Bo Ruud, and 6-5 Pierre Woods and Shawn Crable.
