Mock Draft v1.0

What better day to release a mock draft than on April Fools Day? No one takes these seriously anyway. Even funnier, people do this as if it has any reliability. Yet every year fans and experts can't resist to make an attempt at predicting who goes where in the first round. It's crazy, really.

But projecting beyond the first round is reason to be institutionalized.

I never denied being crazy, but I'm not insane. So here's a first round mock draft:

1 Miami Dolphins – DE Chris Long
Can play in a 4-3 or 3-4

2 St. Louis Rams – OT Jake Long
O-line gave up 48 sacks and the top two QBs have long injury histories

3 Atlanta Falcons – DT Glenn Dorsey
Don’t like Matt Ryan this early. Will draft a QB later

4 Oakland Raiders – DE Vernon Gholston
Sacks look cooler than stopping the run

5 Kansas City Chiefs – OT Ryan Clady
KC cut three O-linemen from a unit that gave up 55 sacks

6 New York Jets – RD Darren McFadden
Incumbent RB Thomas Jones hits the magical age of 30 in August. Time to get his replacement

7 New England Patriots – LB Quentin Groves
3-4 linebackers are harder to find than everyday cornerbacks

8 Baltimore Ravens – QB Matt Ryan
If QB Troy Smith is the franchise’s future, he’s gonna have to earn it

9 Cincinnati Bengals – DT Sedrick Ellis
If the Bengals do convert to a 3-4, Ellis should be able to handle playing DE

10 New Orleans Saints – CB Leodis McKelvin
The secondary really needs reinforcements

11 Buffalo Bills – WR Malcom Kelly
The receiving corps needs size to complement Lee Evans and Josh Reed
