Consensus Mock Draft Favorites for the Pats 7th Overall Pick

Yes it's still two and a half months until the NFL entry draft but it's never too early for the mock drafts to start popping up all over the internets. Below are the three most common prospects that the "experts" have the New England Patriots selecting with the 7th overall pick, keep any eye on them next week at the Scouting Combine...

Mike Jenkins, CB, South Florida

Mike Jenkins

Not everyone is sold on Jenkins being a first rounder but he's deceptive and has good size and speed for the NFL. He has some versatility with playing safety as well, he's projected by some to be moved there at the next level.

Vernon Gholston, OLB, Ohio State

Gholston would project as an OLB for the Pats and they could surely use a linebacker who can get to the QB. As evidenced by the YouTube highlight I posted above he had some experience playing in space at OSU.

Leodis McKelvin, CB, Troy State

As you can see in his highlight McKelvin also can return kicks which is always a plus. He was an All-American as a punt returner, not an area the Pats desperately need but they always value players that can bring multiple skills to the table. His stock has been rising since the Senior Bowl.
