Tuesday Pats Stuff

Camp is chugging right along and it's hard to believe that the first preseason game is a mere two days away. Check back tomorrow for our 5 Keys to the Game. It might be somewhat of an exercise in futility for a meaningless preaseason game as far as the team goes, but for individual players there's a lot at stake. Some quick hit thoughts and links:

Matt Light and now Ryan O'Callahan are both MIA, along with Stephen Neal. Let's just say the O-line looks a lot different that it did last season. There's still time and it's possible we'll have the same five starters for opening day but as of now I'm a bit nervous. Everyone knows when the opposition can put pressure on Brady it doesn't work in the Pats favor. I have full confidence in Dante Scarnecchia, he's made magic with less. But it's definitely an area of concern to keep an eye on.

Also on my injury radar is James Sanders, though his loss wouldn't be crippling I like the secondary of Meriweather, Harrison and Tank a lot better with the youth and experience of #36.

Matthew Slater has people talking about his burst. We'll see how he does Thursday night against live competition, but right now it's looking like that draft pick was well spent, when many Pats fans were left scratching their heads wasting a pick on someone who barely played at UCLA. He will be someone to keep an eye on Thursday night.

Reiss has got his mailbag. Interesting stuff about Hobson. I'm kind of surprised he hasn't been making more of an impact. But that surprise is offset by how Jerod Mayo has been tearing it up.

Albert Breer has a pretty good article about Josh McDaniels. Though he's often maligned it's clear from this article that McDaniels will be looking for improvement this year.
