Monday Patriots Linkage

Happy Monday y'all. The draft is fast approaching and after much research and deliberation we're about to commit to who we think will be the Patriots selection at #7 overall. Look for that later in the week, I think many will be surprised by our pick but we plan on defending it vigorously. Until then here are this mornings links:

Victor Hobson's going to be wearing #59 for the Patriots. Sorry to all those folks who were holding out hope for a return of Rosey Colvin.

Mike Reiss has a list of notable upcoming dates for the Pats, the soonest of which is a Belchick Press Conference about the draft this Wednesday.

Reiss also has a nice piece about Todd Mc-Shouldn't-Be-Doing-Mock-Drafts. Didn't realize he's a Boston guy so I guess we'll have to give him a little bit more of a pass in the future. Interesting read about his ascension to challenge Mel Kiper Jr. as ESPN's top draftnik.

All of a sudden man-beast Vernon Gholston is falling down some draft boards as scouts take a closer look at his game film. This guy hasn't played a game since January and yet he's been as high as #1 to the Dolphins in some mock craps and now appears to potentially fall out of the top ten. I'm sure someone will grab him fairly quickly but the red flags on this guy are up.

RealFootball365 makes a way-too-early prediction of the Pats going undefeated in '08. While this article paints the Pats as being possibly better than '07 there's still a lot of work to be done. While the teams they are playing appear  less talented than last years crop, we can't forget how many close games the Patriots had with "inferior" competition in '07. Frankly, I don't want the pressure of 19-0. I still think if the Pats had lost to Philly or Baltimore they would've won Super Bowl 42.

Rejoice, the 2008 schedule is supposed to be released tomorrow. We'll have a full analysis of the Pats schedule as well as the other (good) teams in the NFL.
